I have a pretty slender frame. but to stay in shape, I think I may look up some people I used to know who teach tae kwon do.

what do I do?
1) clean
2) sometimes nothing, all day
3) on nice days, sometimes I take the ferry into Manhattan, and walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. On a clear day, it has quite the view.

you just do the best you can in the brief time. honest to God, i have gotten flagged in the ER parking lot of the hospital where I was sitting in between calls. so the transport time was like:
" I'm en route to XX hospital."
One second later" I'm at XX hospital" LOL

Lets just say -there was morons involved...

Richard,
I started out with the FCVAC.Unfortunately I didn't really have the time to do bolth(FDNY AND Volly)and get my hours,so they canned me!Fired from a volunteer job!I figured a little time was better than none.......don't get me started!!!
Isn't " fired from a volunteer job" sort of an oxymoron in terms?

MAST pants are no longer a part of the protocol in NYC. Besides, the only time I used them was in refresher.

most of the ER docs around my way are pretty good too. one of them even makes a point about teaching us points about the pt's condition that are above and beyond what an EMT class would.

BKohn Henry and FDNYEMT5330, what are we running, including the voluntaries and Metroscare? 250 plus ambulances a tour, for those 3,000 calls a day?
something like that, perhaps even more during tour 2 and tour 3, when it is busier.
the highest CAD # i ever saw was somewhere in the neighborhood of 5200. that was on the day of the blackout.

Hartford CT, One of the most violent, poverty ridden cities, and most stressful city to live or work in at least reported my several news groups. Upwards 500-600 calls a day I think it may be the size of 10 blocks in NYC
do you work for AMR, or are you HFD?

I try talk it out with people, that helps. Also, going to see a professional if you think you need it helps. i had a lot of stuff bottled up ( not just EMS related) and seeking help has made me feel much better. Going for a walk every day, which I am going to leave to do after I finish this, helps as well.

regular uniform during the winter can be a long sleeve button down shirt with or without a sweatshirt over it. i prefer the sweatshirt with the summer shirt underneath.
in the warmer weather, we have polo-style shirts to wear.
