Hi All, I have been a member of this site for some time, however, alas I have never really been that active. I worked as a Paramedic in the Public Health Sector here since 1994. I went into education a few years later, where I managed the Paramedic Programme at our Public EMS College. I eventually went on to being the Head of The College and training for a service that cares for 15 million people... Right now I work for a medical company that develops and sells a range of crash bags, medical devices and manages various agencies for defibrillators, transport ventilators etc... Great to meet you all....

I was pulling a 24 hr tour one night well one of the guys decided to convince one of the other EMTs on Duty whom in fact played the "Bag pipes".Well as i saying with out me knowing this this i decided to lay down for some rest about 9 pm At some piont the bastard came up into the bunk room and started playing that thing as i was sleeping, I flew off the bunk and hit the floor.later on i found out they put it on video..KUDDOS GUys..Just another day working EMS..

Great to have you here! Some of the best paramedics I have met are South African. I have a lot of respect for the particularly challenging job that you do over there.

Funniest thing I can think of is one day in the middle of winter, we had a call for a 1 car MVC rollover. Got on scence and everyone was out of the car and doing ok. I took one step out of the passenger door and slipped on my butt. The road was a sheet of thick ice. I guess it looked pretty funny........
