Ambulance Death Wasn't Due to Crash

THE death of an ambulance patient following a traffic collision was not connected to the incident, police have said.

The man, who was in his 50s, was being transported to hospital in an ambulance when it was in a collision with another vehicle on the Westlink in Belfast on Thursday.

The patient later died in hospital.

Three paramedics were also taken to hospital following the crash.
