Can you diagnose in the field?

the suggestion that 'most of the innovations in current use ' are American we'll give you USS and hell yeah let's throw electronic TV in as TV as is is close the Farnsworth than Logie Baird...

Zippy, I'm sorry, maybe it is just me, but I am having trouble clearly understanding your specific arguements. Why is it that just because there are many products and innovations that come from the US and are used throughout the world we are seen as evil? We are not forcing it on anyone. They are choosing to use our goods. Again, if they don't like them, then don't use them. I can admit that not everything coming out of the US is high quality. The name Ford comes to mind. I would take a Japanese or European car any day and not have to think twice about reliability. I guess I have digressed off the topic, much like this entire thread has.

What exactly does that mean (especially the part about showing up 2-3 years late)?

whoa whoa whoa whoa,

jesus people, does anyone actually read the rules of the forum,

http://www.emtcity.com/phpBB2/siterules.php

with ref to para 4 and 6.

I am not American, i dont hate Americans, I am professional EMS, and could someone please tell me what has all this got to do with diagnosing in the field, before someone tells me to butt out, i was one of the original posters in this thread and it was an interesting discussion before all the **** throwing and defensive posturing, can we get this back on track and act like professional medical people and leave the political debate to those that get the bucks.

Jeez guys, you would seriously want to stand back and re-read all these posts.

world wars ...

and the long game look up NORAID ...

Whoa, whoa, whoa. World Wars? How about European wars that we got involved in? Sure, we got there kind-of late in WWI, but I doubt anyone would discount the Dough Boys as being influential in ending that war. AND...had your countries listened to Wilson and his 14 points you might not have had Hitler corrupting the collective minds of the German people.

SECOND...Hitler? Appeasement anybody? Massive American invasion force while simultaneously fighting a war in the Pacific? Come on dude...if anyone here is preaching cultural imperialism it is you.

Edit: I'd like to also qualify this statement by including that in both wars, especially the first, other Allied nations had a considerable role in the victory. I feel many Americans often forget this fact.

If so many Europeans hate American commercialism, why do they eat it up? I think it is ironic how so many people say that they hate the US and everything that comes out of it, yet they consume our goods without a second thought.
I want to reply to this specific part of your message. I don't necessarily agree (or even read) the rest of his post, but it's completely human nature to not want something around because they know they can't resist it or their youth will be sucked into it. Take MTV culture or Cosmo. How many people spend their lives obsessing about image, coolness, fashion, looking anorexic, yet still say they hate MTV culture. They hate it, but they end up accepting it, because others do, and that's what they feel they need to do to fit it in and get ahead...and in many cases, they're right.

So, totally separate from whatever you guys were discussing, I wanted to address this point.
