American Psychological Association (APA) is somewhat confusing and changes frequently. The use of citation of references from web sites, verbal discussion, even t.v. is documented specific in different formats. Although, I doubt he will take off if not strictly adhered to, I highly suggest you look into it for future reference for medical or scientific thesis papers.
