paramedicmike Posted April 12, 2017 Share Posted April 12, 2017 My last ground job had a "child car seat" on every ambulance. We kept it tucked in the external oxygen cabinet until we needed it. I never had need to use it. If we needed it we strapped it on to the rear facing captain's chair in the back. My flight job used isolettes for neos and then a pedimate for pretty much everyone else. bkelley Posted April 12, 2017 Author Share Posted April 12, 2017 (edited) It could be because they actually didn't. The pedimate is only for kids 4.5kg to 18 kg. It also is only supposed to be used on the Ferno cots listed in the operators manual for the pedimate. It is possible that on a different cot, you weren't able to snug up the pedimate because the cot wasn't designed for it. I bet that car seat got pretty dirty, lol!
