Hello,

I am currently in school for EMT-B. I have to write a 5 page research paper on any EMS topic and was looking for recommendations. Open to anything thanks!

What ideas have you come up with on your own?  Perhaps if we hear some ideas you've had so far we can help either narrow down the topics to fit a five page paper or we can redirect the topic in a way so that it will meet your needs.

What floats your boat?  Do you have a passion in EMS yet?  Surely there is something that really hits your interest.  Write about that.

So far these are what I am looking at:

-the golden hour and other myths in trauma care

-how to care for a patient with spina byfida cystica considering they cannot be laid on back

-shock in the EMS world (types, treatment, effects on various organs and cells if left untreated, treatment)

I wrote a ten page paper on how to improve cardiac arrest survival rates there  was a lot of good info and research there.

So far these are what I am looking at:

-the golden hour and other myths in trauma care  Don't limit it to just trauma, there are lots of medical myths out there

-how to care for a patient with spina byfida cystica considering they cannot be laid on back  easy, lay them on their side.  Might be hard to make a 5 page paper unless you go into depth on what spina bifida is but that may be more than you are supposed to be doing

-shock in the EMS world (types, treatment, effects on various organs and cells if left untreated, treatment)  Good topic
