1. Whenever you feel the need to go to the bathroom, get off your ass and GO NOW. If you wait even one more minute, that call is going to come in where you will be "holding it" for at least an hour.

Have a light-up sign that has your family name on it to put beside you car when you get stuck in a ditch. It's a precaution against your dad just driving past you on the highway, home from work.

What I want to know is when someone is in severe pain for 6 weeks or longer, why do they wait until 3:30 am to call for help? What's up with that?

So is your rule to live by "Don't call for help with your severe pain that you've had for more than six weeks at 3:30 AM?" Or is it, "Always call for help with your chronic pain that you've had for six weeks at 3:30 AM?"
