Mounting AED Cabinet

Recommended Posts

My company purchased AEDs, but they did not come with instructions for mounting. Our building maintenance team is requesting instructions so it is done properly. In my research all that I have found is ADA requirements for mounting the cases. Are those the only requirements? Or would we need to look at building codes for the city in which we work?

My Lifepak cabinets were designed to either mount on the wall and screw into the studs....or it coud also fit into the wall so it was mounted flush with the face of the wall, between studs. Unfortunately, I can't help you much with local building code at all. My suggestion would be to:

  • Contact the manufacturer for the instructions
  • Contact the city to determine what codes are applicable. (likely none because it does not affect the structure of the building.
