Rural Fire department volunteer or paid

My company is volunteer, we are placed on a one year probation but are allowed to respond to calls and I was issued my pager and key to the hall the night I was voted in

Our Fire Dept. is PROUD to be all volunteer and our EMS is paid by the run only.

My gratitude goes out to all firefighters and ems personnel. It takes alot to do the job that we do and to go through what we go through.

Our Fire Department and Rescue Squad are combined, and we are all volunteer. They pay for all our equipment, as well as all of our continuing education.

My FD is volunteer. The ambulance is paid volunteer for overnights. Only get paid if theres a call.

All Fire departments and first responders are volunteer except one and all ambulance district is paid. Though i feel sorry for the people who go to our closest hospital which has been named the "Doc in the box"

We have in the city area paid fire department that also first responds,,, Then outside of city limits we have Volunteer fire depart and first responders They do just as good of a job as the paid,, I thank them often for helping us out...

The Ambulance Service I work for is Paid. 24 hour shifts, I am paid full wage for 8 of those hours and on call the other 16, call back is regular wage or overtime, which ever applies.

The Fire Department I work for is paid volunteer, 10.00 an hour I believe. We get paid for Fire Calls and for First Response for the ambulance. Ambulance is 20 miles away.
