Looking to move international to WA

Recommended Posts

hello,

I currently am a paramedic in California, USA. One of the reasons I decided to start this career was for an adventure. I have been very interested in moving to another country to practice para-medicine. I have been in orange county california my whole life.

Is there jobs in Aus? what is the pay like? what are the protocols like?

any info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Matt

Hi, have you thought about looking into 'industrial' related work? The reason I mention that is typically travel is involved, and for the most part, it is easier then moving to a new country & going through all the groundwork that entails.

Hi Krumel,

What is the application process like with SJAA? I have read through pdf that was attached to the forum. I am an EMT from Ireland with a few months experience working on frontline ambulance service and voluntary service with SJAA here in Ireland.

I am very eager to move to Perth, WA and came across the SJAA website, I have emailed them but I haven't heard anything back. What was your experience like with them in relation to communication?

Thank you for the help,

TallMedic

I have had a look at the PHECC website and I don't think an EMT with "a few months" experience would be accepted in WA; it certainly won't by any other state or here in NZ given the restrictions on scope of practice and your limited experience; I would be more leaning towards the (Irish) Paramedic but even then the scope is only around a third of what exists in AU and NZ

You can try asking SJAA but I would focus on upgrading to Paramedic or AP level and getting at least two years of work experience

Sorry, I'm not allowed to talk about the company anymore. Sorry.

That would be a huge red flag for me. Any company that prohibits employees to use it as a topic of discussion has something to hide.

St J WA has been in the news for killing people and running a smoke and mirrors outfit in country WA purporting to be an ambulance service
