Youre a bad EMT when................

The rule of thumb (and of course 'common sense') is "Take care of your family first, THEN respond to take care of someone else!".

I know of no volunteer or part-paid on call organization that would advocate anything less.

It can be said that volunteerism is a noble and honorable thing, but when it endangers your family; you lose all nobility and honor associated with it.

We've all heard nightmare horror stories about 'The Terrible Twos'. With him having been through that stage of child development with his older child, you have to ask where his head was; thinking it was wise to leave those two little kids alone like that. One would think that by the time a person hits 27 years of age, SOME common sense would have sunk in!
