Paramedic Coned, please help!

Hi folks, I live in Illinois and need to figure out a way to get 30 hours of CE within... 1-2 days as soon as possible. Is that even possible? Any suggestions? Links? My job is riding on it and I don't think I'll be able to do that. I'm at a loss of what to do.

Does your job accept online learning modules, there are some good ecg and cardio ones, I'll dig the links out unless someone beats me to it. Is there anything at your local hospital like a quick course that you could do or an inservice on new equipment? Are any of the defib manufacturers doing in service sessions in your area on new equipment etc? If you use the MRX, there is an online training module that is worth some continuing ed credit.

I'll be back soon to post some links.

Why did you wait till the last minute?????

Goto www.ems-ce.com

Enroll in the training level of your cert and start reading the material and taking the tests.

12 hours per day is max per day.

Ruffems has the site... The link attached is a google page of a few...

I thought I procrastinated. I'm due up at the end of April; my CMEs & Paperwork must be sent; post marked by 3/15/11. I still need some Peds, Geri, WMD, & OB. Just did 12hrs of CME Online through FuNCMEs; split among Cardio, Peds, & Geri. Heading to a 2hr WMD CME. Now for the OB.... Good luck... All the best....

Not only did the OP leave something that could cost him a job to the last minute, but I do believe it took more time to join the city and post than it would to have found some options online. I assembled the following top 5 list in 30 seconds. These are the top 5 hits from typing "Paramedic CE" into google:

1) http://www.ems-ce.com/

2) http://www.emcert.com/

3) http://www.ems-ceu.com/

4) http://www1.emsjane.com/

5) http://www.emsmedic.com/

Can't speak to the quality; but with potential unemployment staring you in the face, who cares?

Have you done *anything* over the past year that could count as CME? Taught/assisted with any classes? Shadowed any doctors? Gone to any lectures? Read any books? Visited any presentations? Anything at all? A lot of time the powers that be where I work will grant CME for nontraditional learning experiences if they think the medic really benefited from them. Can you get any CME hours for ACLS, PALS, PEPP, or PHTLS refresher courses?

Double check with your company (or whoever is doing the accounting) that all these on-line CME courses count. My medical control will only allow a certain number of online hours. Also if it gets down to the line, suck it up and ask for an extension for a week. I cant imagine it is worth it for the company to fire you rather than give you an extra week off to get everything handled.

Other posters have beaten me to the online groups but here is the link for the MRX training package if anyone wants to use it also.

The log on code it mentions is the following:

meetMRX

Hope this helps, it was fun to do this training package actually :)
