New KED??

I asked this in the chat and no one seemed to know what I was talking about....but I was talking to one of my buddies and he said that Kendrick redesigned his KED. Didn't believe him till our supervisor showed us a picture the new one. I can see some differences like the top chest strap is on its own flap and there seems to be another set of straps in the chest area of a the vest, but from the buckle position it doesn't seem to go across the chest. Anyone know what all the changes are, because I was told there are at least 10 changes to it and I can't tell what they are from the picture. Hopefully they got rid of those damn felt and velcro head straps......

Maybe they'll be at the expo and someone will get a peek....

Don't forget the Iron Duck (brand) Extrication Appliance, or the IDEA, came out with the same concept as the original KEDS, but the straps were removable, for limiting/eliminating Blood Borne Pathogens stuck on the reusable devices. Bloody strap? Change it, not the entire device.

As I've not yet seen this KODE, I don't know if this is the change.

So what do you use on cervical, mid thoracic spine pain ..? short spine boards ?.. ( which I doubt most have ever seen) another brand similar to KED...or nothing.. let me guess you pull them onto a LSB..

I use KED's because that's the local protocol, I just think they're a waste of time 99% of the time.

KED's = What's your pt condition?, critical?= rapid extricate, otherwise use them even if you think it's useless, due to local protocol or whatever. I call the KED the law suit prevention device anyway.
