What happens between calls

i agree , it depends on place of employment. while in emt b school i did my ride time with a 911 company that are busy, but after each call we went back to base. i currently work for a private bls company that has pre sched runs ( dialysis) and we stay on the street the whole shift.

That is an incredibly profound observation right there!

Once you've spent any amount of time in EMS or fire service, you will for the rest of your life find yourself having to frequently say, "Well, I saw pieces of that movie, but never the whole thing." It's annoying as Hell.

... and then there was the time I watched The Green Mile from beginning to end in the middle of a night shift without getting paged out ... only because I've seen it 5000 times already.

Lost! Every time. Literally. Every fricken Wednesday, that I sat down to watch a new episode of Lost, the tones went off. This happened several weeks in a row. So, I just stopped watching it. It's different out here, you don't get back to see the end, the calls last two to four hours. You get back to see the end of the movie that was on next, so if you didn't know the name, it's screwed up for good. There are several movies that I've never got to see, because I haven't been able to piece together the scenes. Damnit.

That is why I love the website HULU!!! I can catch all my show that i missed when I'm off. They usually don't post them until the week after but still a saver if you really get into certain shows!! I use it to feed my HOUSE M.D. and Family Guy addictions!

1) When I got paged out both times on the final MASH episode, I could either run and do the call, or take the time to set up the VCR and be late for the call, which would have gotten me into trouble.

2) I don't think TIVO was yet invented.

3) It took me 4 years later, but I finally saw the entire show, on a regularly scheduled day off, so nobody was going to page me. I took the phone off the hook, too!

Your lack of proffessionalism and compassion is to your ever lasting shame.

In the name of god, is a human beings life of less importance to you than learing over Hot Lips (or maybe even Hawkeye ? whatever floats your boat Sailor !)

Hang your vapid head in disgrace.

Having read Richard's post several times, I don't see where he said that he made the patient wait. I believe he said he COULD have, but would have gotten in trouble for it.

Read #3 again, as you can CLEARLY see, he stated that it took him 4 years to actually get to see that particular episode in it's entirety.

Since you insist on 'stirring the pot', I suggest you follow your own admonishment, and hang your head in shame!

Amazingly, in a matter of 12 posts, you've severly damaged your credibility and established a 'reputation' as a trouble maker. Congratulations! I dont think I've ever seen anyone accomplish that in so few posts!

Now go to your room, you're grounded!

Maybe next time you'll read ALL of the post, put your brain in gear BEFORE opening your mouth!
