"mild smoke inhalation, caused by burnt baked beans

only in jco

[/font:7f929ca59b] Dispatch: Rescue 8, 8-4, Medic 2 to respond to unconscious 19 y/o F pt. reported pt fainted and fell to floor.

Two-Five Minutes later

Dispatch: All responding units, caller requesting you stop coming, pt is alert and "fine", no need for any lights flashing or the siren today.

Fire chief" On-Scene, pt stable, 8-4 and Medic 2 continue response, all rescue respond w/traffic"

Turns out pt donated blood that afternoon and had only had "like two glasses of water" (per pt) the whole day, became light headed and fainted on the kitchen floor.

(Heard, via my scanner, on NYPD Citywide Special Operations Division's frequency 1 radio, mid afternoon, on New Years Day, 2008)

NYPD Special Operations Division Dispatch:"Units to check and advise. Report of a submarine in Hudson River by the George Washington Bridge."

Assorted units advised responding, including Harbor and Aviation.

SOD Lieutenant: "Central, did you say a submarine?"

NYPD SOD Dispatch: "Affirmative. Unconfirmed report via a cellphone"

My questions remain unanswered:

1) What recreational pharmaceutical was the caller using?

2) Was it a yellow submarine, as a pigment of someone's imagination?

3) Were Ringo Starr or Paul McCartney seen nearby, or on board?

4) Was it United States Navy, or at least a "Friendly"?

Maybe it was the lost mini-sub of Japan's from Pearl Harbor. It may have just now showed up after being around the world a few times since 1941.

Or check with Dr. Bob Ballard at NOAA to see if one of his is missing.

On a historical note, the famed Japanese mini-sub that was depth charged and sunk at about 6 the morning of the Pearl Harbor attack has long time been found, raised, and I think is in some war museum somewhere.

There were five, but only four were ever accounted for.
