  1. new skills and drugs invariably become ALS when new until services are sure they can be handled by less experienced officers...BGL ? GTN..etc still, once the skill proves beneficial, and easily done, then why not move it down. Long gone are the days of Ambulance drivers. Just imagine though if GP's could place IV's....Oh thats right they can they just dont. LOL
  2. LMAO just dont cut it. im pissing myself...my partner is looking at me like im crazy. But seriously, if I dont keep the tin foil hat on the dispatcher can tell where I am!
  3. All I wanted to do was buy 2 decals to put on my helmet as do both medic and fire, the only place to get these is the states, a blue star, with PARAMEDIC curved over the top. (i'm sure you know what I mean) The price for two was OK, about $6. USD, but the postage! good grief, it worked out that to buy 2 stickers was going to cost about $40.00 usd, about $80.00 here! does anyone want some shirt patches from here that would be willing to do a swap, or I will happily send the money for the Decals, the just need to go in an envelope, for goodness sakes.
  4. Well done girl, had not heard for a long time re your job hunting, thought you had given up. Lots of tips spring to mind but ill give you just one, dont ask about pay etc, until they offer you the job. You can allways turn it down, but you need to appear interested more in the experience, and job rather than the time off and pay at the interview. Hope that makes sense, cause I am 25 mins from finishing a 12 hour night shift and up all night. Cheers and good luck
  5. vs-eh? wrote: So you get 8 more ambulances and 47 more fire trucks (hey it's a fire, you need at LEAST 47). Because of the aforementioned poor road conditions they all approach the scene and ALSO crash into each other and various surrounding buildings. Everything is on fire, everyone is burning alive and looking at YOU to save them. As you stand there adequately practicing BSI and scene safety... 4x4 and epipen in hand, a bus looses control and smashes into the scene as well. You get the feeling this isn't any normal bus.... With his last gasping breath, the bus driver says "This.....*gasp*....this bus is FULL OF BABIES!!!!!!....." Then he dies. Shortly thereafter the bus explodes sending like oh say 40 babies everywhere. Keep in mind you still have those 4x4's, plenty of NRB's that you are dying to give oxygen at 15L/min with, and of course a fist full of epi-pens... NOW WHAT DO YOU DO? Remove uniform shirt, mingle with crowd...........
  6. I would be keen to send some from New Zealand
