  1. and the right circumstances are? passing the buck man, as to protocol. if you work rural yes. if not, there is no need. nurses screw this up everyday in the two states ive ran 911 in. its same as anything else. you make do with what you have. if you have to ask, esp if you are a parapatetic then you are in wrong biz. period. and yes. i am a know it all.
  2. combi tube is intubation, as it establishes a direct pathway into the trachea. dont take yourself so seriously, guru.
  3. forgot to mention, if the pt responds to airway adjunct, you shouldnt be using it, or you should be promptly taking it out per angel, LOL. gag reflex sucks. in reverse. or something. i dont know, im just in night school for a semester and know nothing, just ask dustkettle, or whatever.
  4. im just a student, but in MI basics can intubate. COMBI TUBE BAY BAY! its sweet. Also, instructor prefers NPAs...almost as good an adjunct as an OPA, and you can suction better, et al also. BTW, is the right nostril thing real, or is this a joke played by you oldsters, like the left handed screwdriver thing...
  5. im not an EMTb yet, but i suppose my release will be music. I listen to it and it sorta recharges my psychic batteries. I play drums too, so if im really mad, i draw a pic of whatever is p1ssing me off on a drum head, and beat the living crap out of it....
  6. I believe this technique is currently being tested in Tucson AZ. I was very skeptical at first, but after reading more about it, it actually makes a lot of sense, and preliminary test results are quite favorable.
  7. new MAAAAdrid line is a huge secret to most of the world. im originally from St. Louis (glad i left also, lol). It will be a disaster of HUGE proportions when it goes, and they are overdue. some of the locals are aware of the line, many, tho, dont even know that it exists, and they are sitting on top of it. in my opine, is EMS (anyone, for that matter, prepared?) well, ive never worked in EMS there (anywhere, yet for that matter). my dad is retired MO HP....so, based upon that, and my growing up in that area the answer is a resounding NO!
  8. im not sure that "telemetry" is the appropriate term, but if i understand this right, i am for standing orders AND medical direction, if needed. I just dont see how you can go wrong with this. having said that, i think that many times, in many places the EMT B is not utilized to the fullest potential.
  9. I believe in god, in a relatively christian sense. however the denial of evolution, in my opinion, is plain silly....
