  1. I'm really glad this topic was brought up. I've previously worked in a job that consisted of severely diverse co-workers- what does that mean? Everyone is different, different views, different beliefs, different realitys, different culture, different ethnicity, different color, different ages, different geographical location, different mentally, different physically (list goes on). Yet, all these severely different people had at least one thing in common, they had the same job to get done which consisted of putting aside their differences and working together. Point is, when it comes to a job/ workforce, our differences are insignificant and do not matter- as long as the job is being performed and to the best extent. As for your condition m3dic911, you have an advantage being in the EMS field. Because you can't empathize, that won't affect your level of care negatively, it helps you focus on fixing/helping that patient without having emotion as a distraction. I'm not sure but I'm guessing that also means it would be difficult to develop PTSD as opposed to others which also helps.
