  1. Well...yeah. And woefully uninformed about EMS.

I just took issue with who said it.

I guess I have to ask why you would have such an issue with a funny little bird that is suffering from depression, reguardless thats not nice and you should say sorry........................we are all trying to get along in the sandbox

  2. Yes the husband saved the TV both times lol as for being a good man well thats up for debate :)

The tsunami would have hit us in about 18 minutes they say but they (who ever they are) we do not create the right earthquakes here, but could get a wave if the quake is from alaska or Japan. So there for we would have time. But with that being said the problem here is flooding so either way I guess.

the first one last over a minute and this one was only about 30 seconds so on the bright side it was shorter :_)

  3. Would just like to put it out there that on Monday the 27th is pink shirt day. This for anti-bullying. As we all know there is alot on on line bulling going on in our society and this is just one small way to show support. You dont have to wear a pink shirt you can just wear something pink. So for you old timers lol that have a pair of Pink skinny jeans that would be fine also, but I want pics :) For those of you who are unaware of this here is the artical that started it all and a video of flash mob in Vancouver at a Giants Hockey game. Enjoy and thanks for supporting this cause if you can. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2007/09/18/pink-tshirts-students.html http://www.vancouvergiants.com/article/pink-shirt-flash-mob if the video dosnt work let me know please

  4. I am going to put this in short form. Your stuff is what my mother went through and I went through what your daughter went through. 1. Have your ex charged 2. Get a restraining order 3. Move 4. Get counceling for your children What your wanting from your director is not going to happen and has become a distraction to the more serious issues going on in your life. Dont waste your time and energy on him. I know it is easier said than done, but that is what my mother had to do. I dont want to sound harsh but your child needs all of your energy. I hope things start to look up for.

  5. Yes, I did, something like 10 years ago when it first came out. I could do it then and I still can, so, it is yet another load of crap spew circulating around the internet that someone just HAS to spew on to others. I can also pat my head and rub my tummy...or rub my tummy and pat my head. Fortunately, when I get crap that proclaims how I have to pass it on or the world will end, or some such other drivel, I save my friends the trouble of filling their inboxs

    .

Perhaps we can get admin to include a new forum titled "Random Internet Garbage/Drivel/Tripe" for stuff like this to go into.

You've been a bit grumpy lately....... And so you know I dont fill up my friends inboxes with this stuff. I just thought it was funny and wanted to share.....hence is why its in the Funny section.

  6. HOW SMART IS YOUR RIGHT FOOT? You have to try this. I guess there are some things that the brain cannot handle. You have to try this it takes 2 seconds. I could not believe this!!! It is from an orthopedic surgeon ... This will boggle your mind and it will keep you trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't. It's pre-programed in your brain!! 1. Without anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY and while sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles. 2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction! I told you so!!! Even if you circle your foot for awhile before drawing the 6, it will still change direction. And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done, you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.**** Send it to your friends to frustrate them too.

  7. Some places seem to have all kinds of "Admission Requirments" just to be allowed to take an EMT class.... why is that? The Hospitol I want to take it at only requires the money and a simple application....

The wording Just to be an EMT is what I kind of took offence to. I just work hard at striving for the highest grades for the simple fact that I feel my pts deserve a paramedic that has the ability to understand and be able to help them and not kill them. If you feel a c average is to high and obviously you don't have a c average since your complaining about it. I would suggest you not look into being a medic and save yourself a future lawsuit .
  8. Once we are on hospital property, the patient is technically the hospital's patient. We are waiting inside a hallway of the ER for a room, the only equipment we have with us is the cardiac monitor (which some supervisors encouraged us to turn off once we had been triaged and were just waiting for a room, to "show" the hospital the patient was their responsibility... I refused to do that). We were not allowed to further treat the patient, as they were no longer "our" patient, and as the patient was not in an ER room and being seen by a dr, the hospital would not treat them either. On 1 call I was able to give my waiting pt additional pain medication that I had left over in the vial (was going to waste) with permission from the attending Dr, but this was an exception, not at all the norm. If we had fluids or anything running we would continue that while waiting, but not start anything new. Now typically we were not kept waiting with "critical" patients, however on occasion we have been (such as the a-fib w/ RVR patient, another patient on CPAP... both of these were at the same hospital)

Believe me, I know how bad for patient care this sounds, thats why I got out of that system as soon as possible (started my new job this month!)

Congrats on the new job and getting out of that system. That just sounds like a horrible place to work.

We dont have the wait times but with being said we do stay and help if needed. If we are helping with CPR or other critical care issues, the pt goes in, we give the report, the cot goes out with the driver who then gets the car clean and ready for another one if need be. We clear with dispatch (letting them know that we are helping) and then we carry on for how ever long it takes.

  9. So it has been a few days of not a lot of sleep and few after shocks. I will say this though the town evacuated much smoother this time with no bottle necks and less confusion. But of course there are those that have accidents. Just after the shake a person slipped and tore every tendon in their knee, she was a scoop and go to the evacuation site without any pain relief, she never even said ouch. Then a head on trying to get out of town thank god it was minor and the patrolling ff brought the patient to us as we were already out of town. Now the sucky thing of it all is that if a wave would have been generated we would've all been gone as it would have hit here in about 45 minutes from he time of the first earth wiggle. The good thing is that happiness is still here to lurk and stalk another day ..........
