  1. I recently completed an EMT-1 course, and will be taking the national registry in March. I am trying to find out if there are any Fire Departments that will hire at that level. So far, all I have found are departments that will only allow an application for fire fighter with the EMT-P level. Also, any advise for the National Registry. Thanks all.
  2. I am starting an EMT course in August, and was wondering if anyone had a copy, new or used, of EMT: PREHOSPITAL CARE W/ CD, Henry, 3rd, 04 ELSEVIER that wasn't needed.
  3. Thanks, Jake. I had taken an EMT-B course several years ago, but was not able to take the NR exam. I am just curious if I would have to retake an EMT-B course.
  4. Does anyone know how long an EMT-1 course completion is good for? I am currently in CA, and would like to know the amount of questions for the NR test for EMT-B.
  5. What a device. I, too, would not want to be a "crash test dummy" for this thing. I do find it rather disheartening that DoD is spending money for this, and not using the money for something more useful; like better armor for both our soldiers and vehicles that are braving even more danger then us as EMS and fire fighters could ever face.
  6. Good Morning. As long as you can say you did your best and gave 110%, then you had a good day. I agree with Medik8, and if we could save them all, we would be out of a job. I remember my ER clinicals, with a code. The doctor had to crack the chest, and I was manually pumping the heart. Unfortunately, it was only successful for a short time. Continue all your hard work and dedication to EMS, because it can be very rewarding. Feel free to vent, I will always be willing to listen as well. Take care. DC2 Dan Rogers
