I don't believe any state makes an ambulance stop for an accident. Under Duty to Act you need to be dispatched and accept that dispatch or initiate patient care for a Dirty to Act to be in place. Your agency could also have this in their protocols. There is however the Ethical aspect of this. It would look bad for an ambulance that is in service to bypass a medical emergency.

I am 36 years old and currently working towards my paramedic degree and 5 terms in I only have 1/3 of the credits. This is due to having to work fulltime and have a wife and kids at home. For those in my situation who have finished or are also currently attempting, how long did it take you or how long have you been in school currently?

Sometimes you won't have a choice but to relocate. We chose a field with high competition and few jobs. Unless you plan to just volunteer you might have to look for jobs hundreds or thousands of miles away. And when you test, leave your volunteer department or fire science shirts at home. It makes you look like a noob and gives you 0 advantage for a job.

Your first day will probably just be an introduction to the course. It would be best to email your instructor,, but from my experience no you will not need them your first day.
