  1. Not gonna lie smoking a joint on my death bed is on my bucket list. And while my casket is being lowered into the ground I want the song another one bites the dust playing. Thats on my status post bucket list.
  2. I will disagree. have you read The memoirs of kelly graceson "A Paramedic Story"? I enjoyed the old lady ones better. The offer a softer side to ems that not only enlightens the ems providers who run those calls but it shows lay people why ems providers truly came into the business. (At least the ones worth a damn)
  3. Think of it this way in terms of stress. You are called (you as medic, your parnter an emt-basic) to a 8 month old unresponsive on a beautiful tuesday morning. Upon arrival you discover the baby face down in her crib stiff as a board. She is in rigor mortis and long gone. As the lead medic and paramedic on scene it will be your job to look those parents down in the eye and say Im sorry but your daughter is dead. Their is nothing we can do, Im sorry. Console the family as needed. Write the report and go on with your shift without letting that one run affect the rest of your shifts performance. Does it paint a picture
  4. +1 for you eydawn What case?!?!This isnt robert on the hot seat. Kiwimedic despite the lack of credentials has contributed to this forum and has done nothing wrong. He did not impersonate (robert frazier did) He did not identify himself DIRECTLY as an ems provider(Robert did) get it through your thick skull and keep your personal vendettas off this site!
  5. Im a current ems provider. And I have the ability to speak on this forum (from what im interpreting is an all inclusive secret order of some sort that requires you to have a piece of paper). I might have had the belief he was an EMS provider however he stated he never was nor did he directly convey it in any message. But youve went above and beyond the call of duty to prove your point. Or should I say below with those comments. And you should be ashamed of yourself to bring that kind of garbage to this forum. Ah...I see your ability to pick up on stuff is at least sharper than your vision. I'll be sure to tell Kat you send your regards as soon as she wakes up from laying in bed next to me. How's that for "a piss"? NOT PERSONAL!!!!!! HAH!!! Im fucking done with this Frazier post.
  6. Okay I now side with Richard MODERATORS SHUT THIS DAMN THREAD DOWN!!!! THIS IS NO LONGER A PROFESSIONAL PISSING CONTEST BUT A PERSONAL FEUD!!!!
  7. 23 years.....Man I hope I can have that. Ive seen alot of ems families crash and burn. including mine.
  8. That one is mine mi amigo. kiwi redneck=redwi Has anyone ever thought about buying a type 3 and turning it into a tailgating center I know you have kids and probably a amazing husband but would you marry me
  9. Hello and welcome to the forum. Might I suggest doing some research in your area to see if you can find a ride along program. Seeing is better than hearing. Or if your willing to travel for your piece their is a EMS service called cypress creek EMS in houston, texas that does ride alongs that might let you on so you can observe. And many of the medics have been on this forum and in EMS for 10+ years. I wish you best of luck in the forum and ask away.
  10. from my highschool years I have learned that the booze cancels out the memories of getting laid the night before. So its best enjoyed with one or the other; never both. Just like your liquors and beer.
  11. Im sorry for that one. It was a fail on a crack at the worlds most interesting man and his slogan. Damn you dos equis man! Unfortunately kiwi im not much of the binge drinker like my college counter parts. I was just raised with alcohol as a child and I grew accustomed to having a white russian on the weekends or a beer when we cooked on the barbie.
  12. *sigh* I think its weird Ill be certified to push schedule 2 narcotics in a few short months and yet I will only be able to raise a glass of apple juice at my certification party. My first time with "the guys" after my first shift as a medic. What will you have? Dos Equis? No Ill just have a coke. I dont always drink coke with the guys, but when I do...Its really humiliating. Stay thirsty my friends
  13. 1. Im able to see new places sinces we are going on 100 mile+ plus transfers regularly 2. Im gaining valuable box time which will put me one step ahead of the rest of the paramedic students in my class who arent working EMS 3. Since my boss is a hardcore hispanic woman.(very tradiitonal) The office is very family oriented. So if I have to call in because of family reasons my boss completely understands 4. As a Paramedic student I am able to work with patients with complex medical histories and medication lists and research the effects, actions, dosages, and reasons they are prescribed. Especially with cardiac meds and EKG's. Their is a real difference between the strips in my text book an the ones in the field. And it has helped me massively with the cardiac portion of my class 5.Its better than flipping burgers for min wage as a college kid. And having this job at my age makes me feel like Im making a meaningful contribution for my age911 As far as the dislikes. Its not 911. Its long and tedious work with no glory and showers of admiring women *cough* 911/fire (with even less thank yous than 911) And other comments I wont post.
  14. Coding is some bad juju. I agree on taking a pharmacology class. The box may say it does this, but the patient may be taking other medications or have medical conditions that can cause paradoxical or catastrophic affects. Or might not do a single thing. For example. Atropine is said to block/ reduce parasympathetic tone which according to the drug company will increase HR if the SA node is conducting impulses properly. However in a pt with a heart transplant, The heart may not respond to it. Or if Atropine is pushed too slow it can actually slow down the heart.
  15. The obsession is similar. Collsion sports (I.E hockey) Am I correct? and lacrosse. I know its big in the northern States
  16. Oh my word sh*t really hit the fan on this one.
  17. BOOYAH!!!! I sliced through my megacode like a hot knife through butter and flew through my exam.
  18. HAH!!! George strait is the epi center of current texas country music
  19. Am I too sick to live in society if im laughing at this.
  20. If it isnt in your way. Dont cut it. If its feasible to have your patient remove the article of clothing impeding your care. Dont cut it. If their is no reason to cut it, Dont cut it. That sounded kinda kinky
  21. What do we call a black woman from the ghetto giving birth to a child. A patient. What do we call a illegal mexican who was shot during a drive by. A patient. Its all the same to me.
