  4. Still on the lookout. How about you?

  5. How are things going with you?

  6. Nothing yet - still hoping to land something. Thanks for asking!

  7. How's the job hunt going? Any luck so far?

  8. Lisa, I am coming into EMS at the ripe age of 43 with a 14, 12, and 8 year old as well as an active duty husband who is away for most of the year. My family is behind me 100%....well, the 8 year old did try to forbid my clinicals on Fridays, but otherwise has been pretty supportive. I just finished my EMT-B course and TN EMT-IV a few weeks ago. I am in job search mode right now, but am trying to work around the kids. Thankfully, my parents have stepped in to help when I have to be away. The kids have enjoyed learning alongside of me (they were a big help as trauma "patients") and have celebrated each little milestone, good grades, etc along the way. My husband has been incredibly encouraging - he realizes that I have found my passion. I want to go on to Paramedic school so I am sure we are going to be testing the waters with greater demands on my time. I am thankful that there are programs in the area that are flexible enough to make it happen. Best of luck to you! Leanne
  9. This concerns me. It sounds as if you are saying, "Well, this sounds fun and all, but not enough to put a serious effort into doing it right or anything". I hope I am misreading you.
  10. Okay - that makes me feel better. See how much I have to learn - good thing I am here!
  11. Think about it: You got two people with no experience wanting their foot in your door. One has a three week EMT card, and the other has a two year paramedic education. Which one are you going to let in? It's a no-brainer.
  12. Just want to get your opinion on the best ways to get your foot in the door. I just completed the TN EMT-IV program and passed my NREMT a couple of weeks ago. I am coming into the world of EMS a little later in life (age 43)and want to get on to Paramedic school as soon as I can get some good practical experience under my belt. I already have a bachelor's degree in Marketing- contemplated a bridge program for nursing but fell in love with EMS. Husband is active duty Air Force, so I don't require benefits. What is the best way to go about networking? Volunteer with the Rescue Squad? Ideas are greatly appreciated. Leanne
  13. Welcome to the CITY!

  14. Does anyone use a Droid? If so, what apps have you found to be useful?
