  1. September 12-18th the Director of our rescue squad and I are attending the ERHM class in Anniston, Alabama through the Center for Domestic Preparedness. Have any of you ever attended a class here? If so, what did you think of it and why.
  2. This was just a quick post to see what people had for ideas. I never meant any harm by it. I will post a longer, in depth post later tonight when I have time. You see I was at work with him and he wanted me to post and see what kind of responses people could give him so he could research more. There is a lot to the story and yeah, I know I didn't post an in-depth post, but I was just asking for idea. The couple of people who posted something useful...I thank you. Look for my new post in a few hours.
  3. A friend of mine wants to start a medivac/search and rescue service in our area. The area that I live in is about 1-1.5 hour(s) away from the nearest available helicopter service. What we need are ideas on setting the service up. What kind of radio would we need to purchase to put in the helicopter to allow the pilot to talk to fire/rescue? Our area works on high band and low band radio's. The state EMS frequency is 155.340 which is the frequency that would mainly be used to talk to one another. What kind of thermal imaging camera could be mounted on the helicopter for the pilot to use? What kind of spotlight? I need any information that anyone can offer. We really would like to start this thing up here. It would really be to our advantage to have a closer service to fly critical patients out to the nearest trauma center (which is 2 hours away by ambulance). Any and all information would be helpful.
  4. Hey Chris, Up here we run green for rescue and blue for fire. I am involved with both. Its weird I know, but I can't change things. It's NYS law. Whether I am running either my blue lights or green lights I can be seen 360 degrees around. I don't drive recklessly when I have my lights on and I don't have a siren. Siren's in NYS are only required with red lights. My lights are primarily for awareness.

  6. Hello all, I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. I recently bought these lights (http://www.ledoutfitters.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=16 ) for my truck grill as I am an EMT/firefighter in New York State. Can anyone help me with mounting them? Also I noticed that they are a little big for the opening between slats in my grill, can anyone help with that? Thanks.
  7. What i want to do is mount this so it looks somewhat professional in my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Single Cab. I can't find a mount. Also, was wondering about taking out the center seat???Any ideas? Darren
