  1. After looking into zoloft a little more this sounds like some of what is going on could be side effects to it. It can cause aggitation and confusion. I think there is also something else going on here. I think he may have some gi virus or... I would want to transport in a position of comfort. Give O2 start a line and give some fluid to try to bring up the bp some and see if it did any thing about the pvc's. Take him where he wants to go and see what develops enroute.
  2. So every one decides to label me a hater and that is fine. If I was the only one that had these complaints with just one dispatcher then yes I would think that maybe it is me. However when every crew has the same complaints then is it me? It just amazes me that if I work a shift that is not my normal car we usually always get off on time even with the same levels. As for late calls being part of the job I think I have done this long enough to know that but thanks for pointing it out. We have the same dispatcher day after day and I always try to be nice. I may have come across with an attitude and if so I am sorry for that. But to all of you that are bashing me I just want to know if any of you have every felt upset with your dispatcher and felt like venting? That was all I was doing. It was my way of blowing off steam. As for dispatchers I have several that are friends and when I twist off about my current dispatcher they have the same feelings and say they have heard these same complaints a hundred times from different crews so its not just me. I respect them and what they do, I never said I didn't. I don't mind doing my job it is why I am here and I understand posting requirements and all that. As for the coffee and doughtnuts I was kidding and trying to let you all know that I was not serious. As I said above I was venting. As for all my brothers and sisters getting down on me and calling me lazy, incompetent, etc. All I have to say is you don't know my situation so don't be so fast to accuse, I just hope I am around to return the favor when you have a beef.
  3. I was thinking of trying to put together a book on some of the bad calls we experience and how we deal with them and why we do this job. So if anyone out there would like to help me out please send your stories to me at ambulancetramp@yahoo.com.
  4. I have worked with both the furno and the stryker power cots and I perfer the stryker it uses dewalt batteries and it has features I like better. As for the monster cots I have never seen or worked with them so I don't know. The extra weight of th power cots does make you use stair chairs more because no one wants to carry them.
  5. I don't really care about color. I like the tackle box style better then the soft kits just because stuff is ususally easier to find.
  6. I would like to know the answers to the above questions. I am currently leaning towards some kind of infection like uti, or maybe diabetic issue. I would like to know lung sounds and if there has been any sputum and if so what color etc.
  7. If there are any dispatchers out there I have a few questions for you. I have worked in several ambulance services and I now currently work full time at an ambulance agency that does system status postings. Since we work in rather larger county it is about 40 miles if you were to go from on side to the other. So my first question is do you enjoy making our lives hell? The agency I work for has gps tracking in the unit so at dispatch so they know right were we are at all times. So my next questing is do you like to change our destination 10 seconds after we pass the turn we would have needed to take to get there so now we have to drive 5 miles out of our way to get there now? At our dispatch they know exactly when we are to be off so our dispatcher (we get the same one every shift) will put us in position to get a late call every day. So my next question is would it help to get me in on time if I brought you coffee and doughtnuts?
  8. [align=left] I agree if the news was able to track her down it probably was a violation. However everything over the radio and what is recorded over 911 is public record so after this idiot posted it to myspace all it would have took was a little homework by the news station to figure out the details. If he was really trying to help woman I don't think posting it on myspace is very effective. I think he was just boasting about a cool call and it came back and bit him in the butt. He lost his job and I imagine that he is going to have a hard time finding a job in EMS around oregon/washington. So this should be a warning to us all, watch what you say about calls it may mean your career.
