  1. This one sent me into a rage and I wanted to hunt this woman down to rip her apart. Post partum depression my butt! I sat there watching my son sleep when he was 3 or 4 months old while I cried for about an hour wondering how a mother could do such a thing to a little helpless baby.... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,139326,00.html
  2. My son just turned 4 so this sort of thing hits me very close to home. I look at my son playing and smiling, innocent, sweet as can be, and far too trusting. It scares me to no end knowing some demon like that bastard could hurt the most precious thing in my world.
  3. Wow! I too must be naive, I get drug seekers but not drug smugglers...as far as I knew. That is food for thought however. It is a shame for it to even be a concern, to have to worry about being taken advantage of at every turn.
  4. Oh lol, I just thought it was natural selection...
  5. That was pretty cool! People scare the crap out of me the way they drive while we are on scene...
  6. Its things like this that lets me know I am a paramedic for a reason and not a cop. I would just shoot him right then and there instead of wasting our hard earned tax money.... What a waste of human life.....
  7. I was always taught the same numbers you were 12-20, that is what most of my books have said as well
  8. My major weakness is pediatrics. We did not have adequate training and they are not that common. I read quite a bit and take any extra training possible to try and sharpen the edge.
  9. Im sure it is much better to do the classes first, I do wish I had been able to complete them first, but I have to deal with what Ive got lol. I will get all of it done sooner or later
  10. Well we all have those in our daily affairs. Lol it seems you havent had a full day unless encountering at least one asshole  I will certainly let you know about the drink situation as soon as I get back from Mexico next week! 8)
  11. Awesome! I appreciate that, and likewise, if I can help in anyway let me know. We should all get together for a drink or something some time as a meet and greet type of thing since many of us are in the same area. I have heard many good things about the TCC program and have had several friends obtain their cert. there. I havent really heard many negative reports.
  12. LOL, I am going to fing that song on limewire, it is so popular, I need to catch up. This is true about Brookhaven, I did my Paramedic coarse first and under Campbell as my instructor who is also a firefighter in FB. He was very difficult and hard to get along with. Also another thing I didnt like about the program was the lack of help from my classmates. I feel that it is a team effort and everyone should pull together just as we do in the field. Not in my class, if you werent in the "click" you diddnt get help. I was completely alone, if it hadnt been for my husbands dedication, I would have never made it. I am thankful I got through their paramedic first though before finishing my other coarses because I am able to support myself much better than on my EMT salary... :? Thank you for the thought of your friend though Dustdevil, I would have loved to talk with him. Thats quite alright though no worries!
  13. I go to Brookhaven in Farmers Branch. They say I have done the acceptable amount of hours and everything should transfer, and transfer back. I think I can manage the cost of living with the income, I have found many apartments is Kona anywhere from 700-1000 most are furnished and all bills paid. Yes lol I know it seems really strange, Hawaii and Canada... complete opposites, but equally as attractive in their own ways. Acadian is an awesome company to work for yes, lol but you cant beat the location AMR is offering.
  14. This is very true, I want to be able to accomplish my goals and jump as few hurdles as possible. I will speak with my advisor tomorrow and find out what the necessary requirements are.
  15. Wow, I havent heard anything about that requirement, it must have been changed because I have no ties to the islands or its native people. As far as schools, I need only to take classes in A&P, pharmacology, and spanish to complete my degree program. If these classes transfer from Hawaii back to Texas, I will then be able to obtain the degree. At least that is my hair brained idea anyway, lol we will see how it turns out.
