  1. *Looks in her wallet* HEY LONE YOU OWE ME FOR THOSE MUGS OF COFFEE!!!!! And I'd rather be a regualr member of the Ruff fan club than hold a position....Can I be a Ruffan?? Ruff-fan, Ruf-fan?? Whatever.
  2. I whole heartedly agree with you. My responses were pure bursts of annoyance and anger that still lingered from the place. I had only come onto the site to visit the chat that had some friends in it that I actually like to speak to and was pointed to this thread. I do not visit the forums at all anymore FOR this reason.
  3. Come to think about it....Bringing Squad drama outside of the building sounds very familiar....Awhile ago I vented in my blog about being voted secretary, and had deleted the text of the entry so I do not recall what I said exactly, but other than the fact that I was stuck with taking it since no one else wanted it... http://www.emtcity.com/phpBB2/weblog_entry.php?e=2146 Redneck there has a few choice words there, that really shouldn't be speaking of pots and kettles in this thread here now. I have a few other choice comments I'd rather save for another day and time for the appropriate moment.
  4. It's way too easy to be sucked into the vortex of idiocy. Besides EMS, in all their deniability, are emotional fucks.
  5. This is just too good to be true!!! Thank you soooo very much for making my night. I seriously needed that laugh!!! And people wonder why I don't volunteer for GVAC, my home city, anymore. Hmm...... GVAC-Redneeck and darkwhatever try to paint a picture that they are supposed to be a 'family'. They are far from it. I quit there sometime over the past year....don't recall when and don't care. I volunteer elsewhere, elsewhere that is grateful for the time that I could give them and doesn't THREATEN me if I cannot cover a shift that isn't mine to begin with - and that comment is directed pointedly at Redneck FOR THE RECORD. Guilt trips into covering shifts, begging people to call otu of their paid jobs to cover shifts, ehh sorry no go for me. That was wrong to begin with. If YOU want to risk your jobs go right on ahead. Which brings to mind dear GVAC-Redneck - STOP FRIENDING ME ON FRIENDSTER OR MYSPACE OR WHATEVER. WE ARE NOT FRIENDS. And please - delete my phone number and ask your girlfriend to do so too. I cut ties a long time ago and while the "merry christmas" text was nice, I would prefer NOT to have any contact with any of you. Which leads to another reason - I'm the one being asked and hounded by Elmwood Park for the pager that YOUR membership is supposed to be ahold of. I *DO NOT* have it, as I recall distictfully *throwing* it at Matt and refusing to take it when your members that were supposed to be on call never responded. Give the darn wackerpack back to Di so that I don't have to hear about it, Mr. Lieutenant, she's left several messages on the official office line without response from your squad.
  6. I had a few comments, especially regarding the race of the EMS crews versus the bystanders and patient in question, but I can't think of how to formulate being that my head is throbbing from a never ending headache. Regarding the first crew on scene, I do not know what their status was and I only half listened to the initial story when told to me, but its entirely possible they were there picking up a neighbor (or maybe returning them home) when this intoxicated man came out and possibly tossing the crew into a standby to wait for a 2nd unit. Monoc does both 911 and interfacility transport (and I do believe Essex Valley does interfacility as well for EOG, but I do know they definitely handle East Orange 911, and at the time Monoc covered Irvington (where I believe the video was filmed).
  7. I dont believe they were in transit when the ETOH appeared. And in NJ, ETOH patients all go to the hospital...sadly. Hell! Palisades General in North Bergen has a room reserved for drunks as soon as you walk into the ambulance entrance and boy! does it stink! Dust, they aren't "whackers" per say... Those particular companies - those are their ugly ass uniforms. ] Timmy, as far as I am aware, once an ambulance is on scene, whether occupied or not with another patient, they are still obligated to wait for a second vehicle if there is another potential patient on scene. I've passed MVAs with a patient on board and had to stand by and render assistance until local EMS or another unit arrived to continue treatment and/or transport. If injuries were minor, I'd get RMAs if they didn't want transport, and standby for PD to report before leaving. My question to everyone else... If you were transporting a stable patient (which is what Monoc had on board) and were flagged down, unknowing the complaint of the potential new patient, would you stop (after all you do have 2 emts, one to assess the new patient and one to remain with the one you already have)? With that, it would initial patient care? Your leaving then could be categorized as abandonment, would it not? Even if it was only an ETOH. Oh, and just non related detail, one of those emts (not saying who) is completing their clinicals for paramedic, as they finished the didactic portion back in May.
  8. The area the video was recorded, the residents are like any other ghetto...they want you to do something then when you do, its all about racism and police/ems brutality. I think the ethical question might be about the video in general being online. It was the bystander that recorded and posted it, not the ems crews.
  9. They were reprimanded primarily for not filing a PCR on the guy. I don't know what went on with the Essex Valley crew as they were the ones that did the actual transport.
  10. That video is old news for me. In fact I know one of the EMTs in it. They were not fired, but heavily reprimanded. The Monoc unit actually had a patient on their truck at the time and were standing by for another unit to arrive to transport the intoxicated party. Unfortunately, stuff like that is common where the video was shot. AND FOR THE RECORD...it was a bystander taping the video and uploaded it before anyone gets jumpy about the possibility of another EMT or Emergency personnel doing it.
  11. A few of those are old, but there were a couple I never read before... Good one!
  12. Piffle! I have to deal with way too many area codes. I have most of our regular facilities programmed into my phone, because being overnight, doors tend to get locked and I'm either trying to get someone in, or take them out. 201, 973, 862, 908, 732, 551, 609... then when I have to call into NY for anything ... I have a strong desire to choke someone. Oh! And 411 isn't very helpful half the time. I tried calling for a hospital in Paterson, NJ and they connected me to Wayne, NJ.
  13. Funny terri! Esecially the Beavis and Butthead touches. Here's mine...*hearts* SGA at the moment.
  14. The only time pictures of a patient was taken in my presence was assaults, and they were done by police. It really is a shady area, but sometimes photos can help, but they should only be shown to the staff treating the patient when you turn care over and (in my opinion) deleted right there in their presence. I've never encountered a need to photograph a patient. I try to be as descriptive in my narratives as possible, and been known to submit 4 pages for one transfer.
