Sorry to hear about the test but good for you with sticking to it. I don't know anything about where you are but maybe try a full length course. Just remember that when you take your exams you have to do it based on what the book says.
-
Glad to hear you are okay. It's a crazy world out there lately.
-
Welcome and I hope your test went well.

It's too late for advice at this point but I hope it went well.

Sad. Tom Lateulere was a big name in EMS in NYS and Suffolk County and a great guy. He passed away about a month ago.
PS-Connie Kraft is a great nurse and I enjoyed working with her during residency.

You can also insert 'Local, Oversized Healthcare System'

Good luck, but I have a feeling you are going to get the same response here as you did on the other site.

That's right, everyone here is an ambulance driver, especially that ole fart ERDOC, But don't let him fool you, his expanded standing orders include EOA's and Mast pants. He also won't let you do anything other than bolus'es of Diesel in all but the most extreme of cases, that's the extent of his expanded standing orders. Don't let him fool ya, he's ful of HOT AIR, and doesn't deserve your vote.
In fact, he was seen getting off of a private Jet after a recent meeting with the AG where it was rumored that he was discussing the pending case of his campaign manager who is under investigation for not following those same standing orders that he is promising you that he will provide you if he is elected.
NOW HOW can you trust him to give you expanded standing orders when his own campaign manager cannot even provide them to the most vulnerable population in america, the richest citizens in the state of Michigan. You cannot, so it's obvious who supports both citizens and EMS Colleagues the most!!!!!! YES ME!!!!!!
I promise the ability of every EMT to give nasal narcan and stadol as well as each paramedic that goes through my own personally developed expanded practice program will get to call themselves a "extreme expanded expertly crafted community paramedic" There is no service in the country that won't hire you and make you their SUPER SUPERvisor.
And for everyone who completes my program, you will get your own laryngoscope personally engraved by none other than Me and the Donald.
MIC Drop
OK, good sir, if we are going to air our dirty laundry, let air all of it and not just your frilly panties. Ask my opponent who the medical director for Ruff University is. Ask him who it is that is giving these super expanded community paramedic protocols. That's right. It's me. So either way, I win. Your vote doesn't count. It's almost like I have a former president and his wife who is running for president in my back pocket. Carry on sheeple.

Only we can make it epic....as far as voting I am starting to think that maybe this election I am torn between Erdoc and Ruff
Vote for me and I will give everyone expanded standing orders. I don't see my opponent making such promises. All I have heard him say is that we shouldn't change things because this is the way we have always done it.He even went so far as to use the term 'ambulance driver'

so this thread about voting didn't make it to the epic thread that you so hoped did it?
Nope. Maybe we should stir the pot a bit. So, who's voting for Osama Bin Laden?

yeah I get that Doc, but they outlined what possibly could happen. what I was referring to was the hundreds of thousands of people who were complaining that they voted to leave the union but didn't know what that meant. Many have admitted that they had NOT a single iota of understanding of what could happen. And yet, now they are complaining because they "didn't know".
I was just comparing that to our US voters who vote based on gender, race, they like how the person looks, how they talk, how they walk, how they do anything other than where they stand on the issues that will directly affect those voters come the next 2-6 years(depending on who they voted for and for what office) and also for the downstream effects many many years down the road.
That's what I was alluding to in my original comment.
I got ya. Yeah, you can't vote and then complain you didn't know what you were getting yourself into. Educate yourself or don't vote.

Yesterday's award was not for participation, it was for your written brilliance. The way you wove a tail comparing working for a private ambulance service to having your genitals fondled was pure genius. If we still had forum signatures, I would have made your quote my signature. You truly won the internet yesterday.

In defense of the voters (I don't have enough knowledge to say if it was a good idea or not) if it has never been done before, how can they truly know what it means. It's uncharted territory, but sometimes that's what needs to be done.

I think Ruff wins the internet today.

Good call. Let's go nuclear and talk about how Brexit will affect the US Presidential race.
-
Yeah, what ERdoc said.

I think most people are still here and lurk but just don't post much. Someone needs to start an epic thread that is capable of generating lost of discussion. Should we talk about religion or politics?
-
There is no answer for this question. Privates are different depending on where you work. In some areas they do 911 stuff while in other parts of the country they only do IFTs and renal roundup/discharges. If you have a specific company and location in mind, you might get some valuable information.

That was the reason you had to get married from what I understand.
It wasn't the biting but yeah, pretty close.

Welcome, and I only bite when asked to.

Getting a job in the hospital will be hit or miss. As for a physician, I don't know of any that specifically hire paramedics. Most just hire MAs. If you are interested in working in the hospital or clinic, why not just work on becoming an RN, PA or MD/DO?

NASCAR!!! LEFT TURN!!! says the guy raised in middle class, suburban NY.

So sorry for your loss, Dwayne.
Partial Pressure
in Patient Care
Posted
I don't think there is much change in the partial pressures. You are just unloading more CO2 per minute because of the increased resp rate. Just to make up some numbers, let's say you get rid of 100gms of CO2 with each breath. Breathing at 10 times per minute, you are removing 1000gms. Now, increase your rate to 20 times per minute and you are no getting rid of 2000gms per minute. Clear as mud?
