  1. It makes no sense to NOT have hands on in class. As a student it makes more sense to know what I'm doing on a dummy before a live person. My class we actually get to stick one another so we get to feel what its like. The more you do it the better you get to where you CAN do the procedures in your sleep. Repetition is the best experience there is, and reading it in a book cannot give that to you.
  2. Leave it for his judge now THAT will take some faith being as the judicial branch of the government has done such a wonderful job as of late. no offense battlemedic345. I was shipped out when 9/11 happened and helped during the tragedy I still bear the scars but wear them with pride and honor. As far as the 20th hijacker goes I say he needs to be disgraced publicly and torn down to nothing more than a shell of a man. His beliefs have NO place in this country anymore after he committed the act of treason. One thing that everybody seems to forget is that is that okay a swift fair trial yes but an act of treason is punishable by DEATH, PERIOD ,THE END, GAME OVER, this is the way our forefathers set things up. In this day and age everybody is so overly PC it sickens me to see that the Constitution is being trampled upon this is a basic truth. The other problem is that our troops didn't ask to be called up and go fight but they went w/o question to keep our freedoms intact so we could have discussions like these and yet I see people treat them like people treated our Vietnam vets when them came back. Whether or not you agree with why we are over there give our troops the recognition the so richly deserve just think if it was you or your family member over there. And I agree with usafmedic45 there is NO honor is taking a life in war death is death and that image will stay with our troops for the res of their lives. Well I'll get off my soapbox now.
  3. I agree that we need to have a show like emergency that shows the EMS profession to the public what we actually do and not just drop off pts at the ER doorsteps. Now I know that this is a movie, a little dark and goth but it also shows a very true yet real side of EMS. It was done back in late 90's early 2000 I think Bringing out The Dead With Nicholas Cage.
  4. gotta stick with Vegas Baby! Love Gary Sinise and who can forget Harper Hill from Full Metal Jacket fame playing medical examiner they make NY the CSI that it is. David Caruso doesn't know how do act as far as what do do with his hands, that's why they are ALWAYS glued to his hips. Twitch what do you mean you haven't seen NCIS I believe it's on Tue nite 1900 CBS if they haven't fooled w/ programming.
  5. While I was in Texas my partner was a medic and he taught me how to read basic EKG's. While I was going thru medic school, I assisted in getting IV's and drugs ready for him. The Doc's signed off for me but never really stepped outside of my protocols just bent one or two.
  6. class uniform is navy blue polo w/ white t shirt underneath. Class patch on left shoudler and area EMS patch on left chest. Navy blue BDU's/EMT pants whichever you prefer, black shoes/boots (mime always spit shined looks better) and then school ID around neck. Oh yeah always watch and "ears" of course. Then work it is boots BDU's and light blue shirt with company patch on left shoulder and name on left chest.
  7. Littman Classic II. Love it! I still have my old double tube from back when I first started over 13 yrs ago, kinda sentimental that way I guess
  8. Just finished my EMT I class and am waiting to take NR test in August. Work vol for local squad and work as ED tech at local Trauma center. Love the blood and guts. Started para school last week and that gets out in April of 06.
