About Me

I am an NREMT-P, with over 18 years in EMS, both as an EMT, and as an EMT-P. I've had the pleasure of serving on private EMS services, fire/EMS (municipality), and county EMS (Public Utility Model). My experience includes mostly 9-1-1 "rescue"; however, I really enjoyed my experience in critical care. I find that my time spent in critical care EMS is invaluable, and has undoubtedly led me to be a better "field" Medic. So...all of you folks who don't want to do the "transports", look at them in a different light. I cannot say enough of the opportunities I've had in critical care that I've learned from. My critical thinking skills have increased exponentially as a result from critical care, and in EMS it's all CRITICAL THINKING.

My wife is my soul mate, and this extends into EMS, as she is an veteran EMT of 11 years. We are so fortunate to share our very passion (professional passion, that is) together. We enjoy walks on the beach, listening in on the 2-way radio, or just driving around the county. We have 2 dogs, Cheyenne (our Lab-Chow mix), and Sydney (our Cocker Spaniel).

I am a licensed Technician Class Amateur Radio Operator, and am very active on the local VHF/UHF repeaters. I also enjoy D-STAR, IRLP, and APRS. I try to get out on 10 meters and do a little HF every now and then.

Presently I am in education, and am the Cardiovascular Technology Program Coordinator/ACLS Program Coordinator for a local technical college here in West Central Florida. Here I spend my days and months imparting my experience and knowledge on those interested in the "heart of the matter".
