I don't think she should have been fired, all she did was state how over half of us feel IN A PHONE CONVERSATION.....really? There was nothing telling her she was being recorded and this was not stated over the radio. I believe they was all at some fault, Pittsburgh mayor was drunk at Mardi Gras and the PSD was out if town too, but nothing was done to them, we all knew here that this storm was coming a week and half, the dispatchers encouraged the man to cancel ems and the pt and wife cancelled multiple times. So I blame all of them including the DPW.....Pittsburgh EMS was just a great scapegoat for this.

wow......ALL I can say......

We have 2 bariatric stretchers at work and use on at least daily. Suppose to have a supervisor for anything over 300 lbs...didnt get help today with 400 pounder and now im sore.

We have a few EMT's like that write ups are a waste of time, they dont care......

I wish we did, very helpful...but got to get the people to fill them out

I know it's been a long time, but I'm finally getting to get back on. Just went through a divorce about six weeks ago, moved back to La. and settling in.

My VFD uses VHF and my EMS uses UHF, UHF is better, travels further, Ive been able to talk to dispatch on UHF 50 miles away, freaks them out but ive done it. My VFD is switching to UHF within a month, should be interesting.

I know im getting old when I graduated with is talking about THERE kids graduating.......

I don't smoke or chew, I have enough bad habits like chewing my nails, I'm trying to make ends meet now, thats $4-6 a pack I don't have. Personally smoking doesn't bother me if someone does it, but I think chewing is disgusting, smoke disapates, spit doesn't.........

With that being said Dust, there still teaching here in PA that a LBB should be used in an arrest for a flat surface. I had an arrest last week and we used the floor just fine, then the reeves for extrication out of the house.

Only at the very last place I worked street EMS did we ever use cabinet tags. It's a great idea in theory. But like CrapMagnet, everything is still getting checked, if it's not my initials on the current tag. I've seen the system fail one too many times.

Exactly Dust..........can you trust that person that sealed that cabinet and "checked" it?

Truck checks are suppose to be done at beginning of every sift at my service.....but always isnt the case......

In my lifetime I watched probably 2 or 3 shows of Emergency......just didn't think it was a good show.

This isn't rocket science. Just put one line on your report that says, daylight savings time change. That's what I did the night of the big change.

And yes there was a 2am it just got downsized to 3am.

I worked overnight that night, just document in PCR that time changed, especially if the time is going back.

Ok I have a question for everyone. I have attached a link to what the media claims is a picture of Michael Jackson being taken to the ambulance. I see a collar on him, and a BVM. From what I see the collar is pretty far up and looks to be over his bottom lip, or very close. I do not see ANY sign of the ET tube coming out of his mouth. My question is this: did they have to cric him? and if so why? Or is this another case like that of Elvis, someone wanting to disappear from society? Seems strange to me, any thought, comments or?
