  1. I don't know how Christianity has killed anyone. I know some kill claiming that it's "in the name of Christ", but trust me, it ain't the Holy Spirit guiding them in it.
  2. Matthew 5:17-18....."Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished." I believe ceremonies are null and void, but not morals. Another example is the woman caught in adultery. The OT said adulterers were to be stoned to death. But Jesus taught differently. He basically forgave her, but told her not to do it again. I'm not making much sense here, lol.
  3. Congrats! I took my test on a friday and got my NREMT-B card by the following thursday, but I am still waiting on my KY certfication card.
  4. Thanks! As to EMT-I or Paramedic, I want to give myself some time to do well as an EMT-B before making a big leap like that. KY hasn't had EMT-I certification to my knowledge but it is rumored that we will be getting it eventually. I would probably wait another 2-4 years before going into Medic classes at least. Around my area, there is a new class starting up every two years, so I am likely going to be at least 2011 before making that jump. I will be 31 years old then. We will see.
  5. I PASSED! 8) 8) 8)  I'll have an actual number score soon I guess, and I will update then. YES!!!!!
  6. Lady in her 60s trampled by 3 or 4 horses. This was when I just joined the local rescue squad. They called in Air Evac and took her to U of KY hospital. She made it.
  7. I am a volunteer FF myself and am very overweight at 335 pounds. I am also about to become certified as an NREMT-B and I am trying to work on getting myself in better shape. I rarely consume alcohol and have never smoked in my life other than second hand, which has not happened too much in the last 7 years since my dad passed away (31 year smoker) from a stroke at 45 (he was also around the same weight I am now). This past december, I went through a two-day mandatory FF safety and survival course. I got through it fairly well, but I know my weight bogged me down. As soon as I can afford it, I plan to start a comprehensive diet and exercise regimen. I have done all the research and have decided that a low-carb lifestyle is the best route for me to go. I don't buy the notion that our bodies need carbs to live on any longer. Eating fat does NOT make you fat. Excess carb consumption does and I am proof of it. EMTs are supposed to be good examples of health, but I can't tell you enough how that is mostly not the case. Plenty of them smoke and eat the wrong foods though not every one of them shows it in their appearance. I'm just going to try and do better for myself.
  8. I took the NREMT-B CBT test today at Campbellsville University. I arrived about 40 minutes before my scheduled time, and once I got checked in, they went ahead and allowed me to start the test early since I was the only one testing. It took me about 35-40 mins and I answered around 90-95 questions before it kicked me out. I have a good feeling about having passed, but the waiting game stinks! Is 90-95 questions passable? I enjoyed the experience, which was very relaxed, and I didn't even have to lock my wallet up, lol. I should know my results by tuesday or wednesday.
