Yes I am 19 and know that I am young and still new, but my age should not disqualify me from advancing my knowledge. I am willing to continue my education wherever and whenever I can. I would even attend a CCRN course, knowing that I could not test or have a certificate with my name on it, but it would teach me more knowledge when I go to work. I currently work at Muskogee County EMS and live in Stillwater. I attend Oklahoma State University with a declared major for Physiology and Microbiology-Clinical Analysis with a pre-med option. I plan on going to medical school in the near future. Now I dont plan on applying for CCEMTP course until sometime in between May - July. At such that time I will approximately 1 year of experience. Does anyone know anyone that teaches a Critical Care Paramedic course in Oklahoma? I am trying to find a CCEMTP course, but can only find the closest one in Georgia and that doesn't start until May of 2009. Please let me know if anyone knows any information about CCEMTP course. Thanks.

Well I am really looking for information of what they do while inside the hospital, do they help out in the ER or they just wait for a call. Do they have certain protocols that differ from techs in the ER, what type of mandatory training must they meet to keep active, starting salary for the minimum amount of experience, as a paramedic, work schedule, can they do a 24 hour shift or just 12, etc. Thanks.

Thanks for everyones help. Although, I have already tried opening Muskogee's protocols. However, they will not open for me. It says that the link is bad and I have tried from multiple computers, from school, work, friends computers, and my personal computers. Nothing opens the pdf file.

As weird as it may sound, but my Intermediate class could not start IV's on each other. Supposedly the law changed in the beginning of this year saying that students are not allowed to stick students. However my paramedic class could, only if we signed consent to get stuck. I hate IM's more than anything. The student that stuck me practically let got of the needle mid air and then grabbed it as soon as it stuck me. Scared me half to death.
