  1. I was expecting an answer like that. Almost didn't even ask. No, not teaching a class or taking the class at this time. A few of us were wanting to take the test just to learn from and be able to grade them. Yes, absolutely implying that we would share work and answers! We will share the learning experience. To what end? Just looking for some extra testing materials, to keep us thinking and always learning. With budgets being what they are, just simply signing up for classes or "arranging a series of classes" isn't always the answer. Thank you for your help, or lack there of. I hardly needed an ethics lesson from you. I've been through the test. Looked up everything that I wasn't 100% certain of. I was just looking at the time to see if we could quickly access a key to check and study missed questions. I didn't mean to pee in your cheerios! Thank you for your input.
  2. I really enjoyed emscram.com and JBlearning. Most others in my class liked jblearning more because they offered more explanation. I prefered EMSCram myself.
  3. Hello, We were looking to utilize the AMLS pretest for practice/training/studying. Does anyone have the answer key available? I just downloaded the test, if I can't get the key, I will very carefully go through the test, however, I didn't want my mistakes to mess anyone else up. Just thought someone might have it. We hit on AMLS for a few hours in my refresher class and it seems like a great class. I'd like to attend one some time. Thanks, Nik
  4. So, i'm mildly freaking out! Just a couple of days until my Nat. Reg. test. i've been studying hard but i'm still super nervous! trying to focus on my weaker areas. Our Nat. Reg. practicals are in a week. I'm really hoping to knock out the CBT the first time.
  5. My paramedic class also integrated a quick down and dirty A&P section as opposed to making it a pre req. Its up to the school or lead instructor. I ended up finding some good stuff on youtube. A buddy in class found and reccomended me to a series of videos. Search UC Berkly anatomy and phisiology. Its videos of classes that were posted. Its rough, but it'll be over soon! I thought that I struggled with A&P and now we're into pharmacology and I am struggling more with that. :-( start looking around here: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=UC%20%20berkeley%20%20anatomy%20and%20%20physiology&search=Search&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&spell=1
  6. I think that the OP was asking if he can interview some EMT's or medics for a project at school. I am merely an EMT-B, but if I can help answer some questions, let me know. I shot you an email.
  7. I would also add that as excited as you are to learn, go ahead and read that EMT book from 1998. Sure, things will be out dated but most of your questions will be able to be answered out of that text. Plus, when you get into your EMT-basic class, any new information will be conveyed to you and you will get the newer information and be one step ahead of most of your class. Even though some things have changed, you can still learn an incredible amount from that book. Have fun and hurry up and get into a class!!! P.S. you're going to take a National Registry test at the end of your class so dont worry about waiting until you move to another state before you get in a class! Just go sign up! It sounds like you'll enjoy it Also, to the OP, you sound like you have a sincere interest in EMS! If you would like to send me your name/mailing address via PM, I will mail you a totally decent stethoscope and a more current EMS book that I have laying around. That should get you started. Don't put off class until life gets in the way!
  8. Thanks Dwayne, I appreciate the response! I don't mind a little ribbing. Seems like a pretty good place so far! I've been lurking for a while and decided to join with medic class starting up and all!
  9. Thanks everyone. I have started typing out all of the more condensed Drug profiles. I will start hand writing them all out tonight. Our instructor told us yesterday that we need to know ALL of the drugs in our books for National Registry! Ouch! 95 by my count!!! locally, we have somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 drugs in our drug boxes, if i'm not mistaken. It's going to be rough remembering 95...
  10. Hello! Well, yesterday was my first day of medic class. We were told to start studying drug profiles now. I have them all listed in the back of my text book but I wanted to know if anyone had good cards to print off for ease of studying. I guess typing them out one at a time will be a good way to beging studying them!! Thanks, Nik
  11. Hello, my name is Nik. I am a new Paramedic student and thought that a forum such as this could help me out throughout my 18 month medic class, and later in my career as well. I am a career FF and have been an EMT-B since 2005
