  1. We have a medic that works on our service that can not drive due to insurance. His is from a wreck when he was a cop in another state. His partners dont like it because they dont get to be in the back. I work in a small private service.
  2. work with three local dept. all carry them nobody admits to using them.
  3. we dont have tele. be nice for backup though when you get a new er doc who dosen't like to give orders
  4. To start I agree with MedicShannon. I can only comment on Ks. regs. To test for medic in Ks. you have to have an Ass. Degree or higher. You can take the medic class and go somewhere else an take the national test. I myself have science and technology degree's prior to even getting into EMS, so that requirment didnt bother me. Although i did have to takle an A&P course. I am a volly at home and work partime in the city to keep my skills and knowledge from wilting. I would love to see more education for medic's I belive it would benifit the entire service not just the medic
  5. we use both pretty much medic and situation dependent. The hospitals dont say much either way.
  6. vfd does extrication have to call in help on water rescue not much need for high angle tallest bldg 20ft
  7. I used all the forbidden words during my FI they didn't work. The FTO was trying to rent me out to other crews so they could get a break. After I got my card and started working the forbidden do work. Just bad luck because I like them.
  8. Ditch Doc I also work lots of hours and am still going to school. How long do we get to take this long awaited test I'm slower than most.
