Watch for taking BP

ERDoc thank you, I realized my mistake and I'm sorry for reinforcing the paramedic+ view of the majority of the EMT community as less-than-prepared. I am adjusting to this new world and am tired like I've never known. I am getting better each day and will continue to do so.

scubanurse thank you for your reply, that is exactly what I was looking for. Appreciated that you didn't feel the need to make fun (Note: This is not to be mistaken with pointing out my mistake) and gave me an honest answer.

Update: Went on my first rounds and it was eye opening. Congestion alone, Manhattan is the worst place to work in an ambulance. As for the EMTs, I would kindly describe them as mildly interested or bored silly. Learned a very valuable lesson from one, however. What he called Psychological First Aid, basically treating the patient's head, first. Humanizing the situation, treating them like a good friend who needs his help, putting them at ease best he can. Not something my instructors emphasize. That alone was worth the rest.
