Hello!

I'm currently an enhanced first aider with the British Red Cross, and Ethical Hacking Student in Scotland. I've managed to obtain a exchange year at Pennsylvania College Of Technology, and I have an interest in undertaking EMT-B and volunteering with the American Red Cross and a volunteer EMS/Fire department.

I have a few questions however.

Q: Where should I look for volunteer ems/emt departments in Williamsport, PA?

Q: As an international student, on a student visa would I be able to register nationally?

Q: Any other advice?

Cheers,

James Hemmings

welcome to the City

you will have to ask the PA state Ems office if you can receive certification on a visa.

Don't see why it would be a problem for you to take an EMT class & get licensed.

There are volunteer fire / EMS services in Williamsport.

Hello!

Hello and welcome.

Q: Where should I look for volunteer ems/emt departments in Williamsport, PA?

A: This is in no way intended to be a smart-arsed response but I just googled "Williamsport PA EMS" and got quite a bit of information. That's probably a good place to start.

Q: As an international student, on a student visa would I be able to register nationally?

A: Any questions about becoming a NREMT certified EMT-B as someone here on a visa would be best answered by NREMT. The Pennsylvania Bureau of EMS would also be a good resource as it pertains to EMS in Pennsylvania.

Q: Any other advice?

Have fun? Enjoy life? Take time to smell the roses? Weat a seat belt? Don't drink and drive?

I'm sure as time goes on I'll come up with some advice that's actually useful.

Anyway, welcome. If you have more questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks, I've emailed the EMS office and contacted station 14 OLFC.
