On this ANZAC Day

In Flanders Field

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead.

Short days ago We lived,

felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved,

and now we lie, In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

In Flanders fields.

Lt-Col John McCrae

They will not grow old,

as we that are left grow old.

Age will not weary them

nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun

and in the morning

We will remember them

LEST WE FORGET

For the Aussies..........

Australians all let us rejoice,

For we are young and free;

We've golden soil and wealth for toil,

Our home is girt by sea;

Our land abounds in Nature's gifts

Of beauty rich and rare;

In history's page, let every stage

Advance Australia fair!

In joyful strains then let us sing,

Advance Australia fair!

Beneath our radiant southern Cross,

We'll toil with hearts and hands;

To make this Commonwealth of ours

Renowned of all the lands;

For those who've come across the seas

We've boundless plains to share;

With courage let us all combine

To advance Australia fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing

Advance Australia fair!

For the Kiwi's.........

God of Nations at Thy feet,

In the bonds of love we meet,

Hear our voices, we entreat,

God defend our free land.

Guard Pacific's triple star

From the shafts of strife and war,

Make her praises heard afar,

God defend New Zealand.

Men of every creed and race,

Gather here before Thy face,

Asking Thee to bless this place,

God defend our free land.

From dissension, envy, hate,

And corruption guard our State,

Make our country good and great,

God defend New Zealand.

Free men have always risen to the call to stand against tyranny and oppression. It warms the heart to know that even though oceans separate continents the ideals of freedom have long brought us together.

Across the sea on this ANZAC Day we remember the sacrifice of Australia and New Zealand during the Gallipoli campaign.

Just finished watching the dawn ceremony from both Gallipoli and Viller Bretonneux

very humbling and moving

both followed the telecast of the Sydney ANZAC march. Over 20, 000 marchers this year....

their numbers may be dwindling, but the march is getting bigger

contingents from ALL over the world marched....so good

I know I'm late, but was with you in spirit, but not unfortunately with internet in the jungle...

Cheers boys and girls...
