Cheating on your life partner

This isn't something I have ever really entertained no do I have in the least any respect for someone that cheats on their life partner, yet it seems to become pretty common practice these days to have a "romp on the side".

This conversation became the topic of discussion today after a friend seemed pretty upset. He explained that...

Pissed off at the bar b que joint

ok, I love barbeque. I love it. Can never have too much barbeque if it's done right.

I went to Sonny's bbq today during lunch. All was superb except the mild sauce, not my taste preference. The sauce just didn't tickle my taste buds.

What happened after lunch is what pissed me off.

I put 10.00 for a 7.82 meal. I tip good if...

Ok I don't know enough. Who knows more about this than I do?

So last night I had my second sleep study. Now I'm asking for help because I just don't know enough on this topic. Let me go ahead and spell some things out: I'm a 24 year old 200pound female. Most of that weight is in my legs. I'm athletic. I ride 6 miles everyday on bicycle, run around with my kids, run up and down the stairs at...

I am boycotting Mother's Day this year

I am boycotting Mother’s Day this year.

This year, I have been dreading Mother’s Day more than I usually do. I see the cards, I hear the commercials “Buy something for your Mother…” “Thank your mom…”

I have always avoided church on Mother’s Day. I can’t sit through the whole “Mom’s are such a miracle…” It isn’t that I am not glad to have...

Random Ramblings

Hey all out there in cyber space looking at this. Just some random thoughts floating around in my head, some rants maybe, some venting probably.

Been quiet at the squad which has given me the time to think a little. Thinking of why we volunteer to do this. For me its the pleasure of a child's smile after fixing that "booboo" or...

Militant Separatists or Religious Fantics?

I don't know which aspect of this news stroy scares me more; the militant separatist mentality, or the religious aspect that they seem intent on ramming down our throat.

I realize and recognize the right to free speech. I respect the right to assemble for religious or political reasons. I accept the fact that there are views other than my...

When one of your parents takes ill!

A path that I now find myself on is a path that I must admit that I never hoped to walk down. I come to find myself in a hospital room with my parents being told "we are sorry, but there is nothing else we can do for your father. Take him home and let him live his life out the best he can." My superman, a little girl's daddy, is...

I received a call this morning about the loss of a longtime EMT in our county. Rod had many trials in life including a heart transplant which he was one of the longest living transplant patients in Iowa, plus with in last couple years kidney failure. He fought the fight well. He maintained all his certifications required as an EMT until a...

My Back Injury

Well, I have never been one to even consider writing a blog, at least I am going to give it a shot.

It has been almost a month I have been off work due to a pretty serious and maybe career ending back injury. It was the first of August, we were 911 dispatched for a "public service" call. Myself and a partner I worked with that day...
